i promise promise promise to blog tonight. i have just been sick the last two days and last night i had to work until 1am. it's a freeezing 40 degrees in nyc. wearing my new michael kors boots today that i got at the consignment store ina the other day. they're perfect today since they are all fuzzy on the inside. my dress is super cozy and im about to throw on my huge h&m scarf. till later, xx

good afternoon. feeling lousy with a fever and the chills.
woke up yesterday feeling under the weather and headed over to feed my brother's cats. i grabbed a warmer sweater from his closet and decided fresh air might be the cure to my head cold. after a brunch at extra virgin, a long walk around west village and soho, my roomate and i hit up whole foods and then headed home. at 7pm, i was feeling miserable and lay under my favorite blanket and passed out. i really dislike feeling sick like this because i feel useless. time to search the web for some interesting things.

um if you have not been to calypso's sample sale in soho, you are missing out. i got three dresses, each of which was originally $225 for 9$ each. yes NINE dollars. sure, it's their summer stuff but who says you cant layer it or just save it for spring! ridiculous.

found this faux fur for a steal at the most random store on nassau st. yesterday. i had been looking for one, and when i saw this one, i just fell in love with both the price tag and the look.

chanel to stay in shape?

last time i checked, i didnt think sweating was "in fashion." id love to see a girl walk into my gym with these chanel hand weights. it always fascinates me when pucci and chanel comes out with sport items, because the girls likely to use the equipment dont even know how to snow plow or understand the word 'touch down.' okay, that was a little harsh. i love this quotation from Karl Lagerfeld from the olsen twins' new book.

Karl L: … Since I started my diet, which was like eight years ago, I haven't touched what I'm not supposed to: sugar, cheese, nothing! I don't even look at it. It looks to me like plastic.

i wish sugar and cheese looked like plastic to me! that would solve a lot of problems. actually, i take that back. i never want anything containing sugar to look like plastic to me. that would just be awful!

sorry for being so out of it lately. i have had a crazy couple of days with work and training for my new restaurant job. tuesday night was the lykke li concert, which was incredible. we stood right next to the stage dead center! i couldnt have asked for a better spot. loved her outfit. over-the-knee socks, holey fish nets, her platforms, a black frock and a bunch of necklaces. it's not shock that designers and girls all over scandinavia have been following her fashion lead for the last year. she can make a grungy outfit look so good. here are some pics i took at the concert.

wednesday morning.

off to work on a chilly day in manhattan. working late tonight so i knew i had to bundle up. alex was kind enough to lend me her infamous coat. it's a real attention grabber. i can see why. it's adorable.

have you been craving the "it bag". it's been the fendi spy. the ysl muse. the mulberry bayswater. the louis vuitton firebird. the chloe paddington. okay i am going to pretend i didnt say that the bayswater by mulberry is an "it bag" because that usually means it falls out of style, and street vendors start selling copies. i believe the bayswater is a classic, but hey i needed an example.

wouldnt you love to be karl lagerfeld's little pet? well, id be happy enough with acquaintence. but pet? duh. of course! well heidi mount seems to be his girl of the moment. in paris, she opened and closed his show (probably took home the goods too), and now she is replacing claudia schiffer in the label's resort campaign. oh did i mention she's 21. karl must be finally jumping on board the jail-bait look. good for him. but i will miss you claudia.

long day at work. sorry i havent updated my blog very much lately. tomorrow i will have the time to catch up. well, my acne tee made it to work today with my 18th amendment bell bottoms, heels and an h&m hat.

i absolutely adore these new necklaces by fiona paxton. could you ask for more retro chic with a hint of modern? but i definitely would not dress them up. id dress them down with black jeans and a tee. they are too special to let a piece of clothing get in the way of the jewelry's glory.

tonight im hitting up the gant x the sartorialist event. what does this mean? it highers the bar. the bar for my clothing. you cant exactly wear "whatever" to that type of event. the sartorialist is the epitome of casual "oh, this old thing? i just threw this together." awesome. now i have to brainstorm.
