eek.

jeez, whoever said that modeling is all ponies and butterflies was wrong. this shoot for the pirelli calendar looked like it got down right dirty. in the middle of africa, these girls dealt with pawing elephants and creepy crawlies. it seemed to be a cross between the tv show fear factor and america's next top model.

in boston.

Just got to beantown. How did I feel rolling in? Like another family holiday was looming. I kid I kid. It's always fun to see the parentals, and it will be an experience to show oma + opa how americans celebrate turkey day.
Another pro to the drama of the thanksgiving holiday? You can always treat all those mental and emotional bruises (thanks to family members) with some retail therapy on Friday. The beginnings of some sick sales for the next couple weeks before xmas. But um you know I am more excited to just spend the holiday with my family - shopping is the least of my concerns. Cough cough. Suuuure.

Wearing the biggest sweater I could find in my closet. It's from when my brother was a teenager (the 80s). Big, white, cable knit and so comfy.

ha.

someone is definitely laughing upstairs. my life must be a comedy to the big man. so today was the shut down of the sample sale, and i walked out of there with all of my things - happy as a clam. then bounced down to soho, and of course i fell for the michael kors shoes i have wanted - this time on sale! half off. woooot. so then i walked over to apple, and poof. right there in front of the store on prince street, my sample sale bag broke, spraying acne clothes all over the sidewalk. my first instinct? grab the clothes. i had no care in the world that i was blocking everyone's way. effff that. i just wanted to make sure no one grabbed my new things! they were way more important. so i then managed to stuff everything into the mkors bag. i trekked down to canal street for the 1 train, and made it all the way down the stairs, through the doors and only then realized i was at the uptown station. so i walked back upstairs and out to the street. well, that is when the mkors bag broke. so i stuffed everything into my handbag and layered my new scarves around my neck and my sweater around my waist.
so the story ends with a girl exhausted and drenched in sweat because god has some serious humor.
off to work off some of my frustration at the gym. lauren gets in at 11. yipee.

friday finally.

the sample sale took all of the energy out of me this week. i will blog when i get home this afternoon. its time to pack up all the pretty things that are left over. last night, alex met me at the sale around 7 and we headed for a small bite at great jones cafe. and then we hung out in the cozy lobby of the bowery hotel.

the great jones cafe has a great juke box.
i really enjoy my new 'homeless person' hat from Filippa K.

v.

when i saw these pics of models masha novoselova and ali stephens from the nov/dec issue of V magazine, i was reminded of the fashion worlds continued obsession with superheros. diave von frustenburgs comic book and the met's superheroxfashion exhibit.

sample sale stuff.

well my bag is stuffed full at the sample sale. i am waiting until thurs to make my final decisions on what i want to keep. tomorrow my brother will hopefully offer some advice. so many choices. here are some pics i snapped with my phone earlier today. ignore the awful picture quality.

the combat boots id def buy if they werent a size 44. check out the possibility of switching the laces to different colors. and the tretorn for acne shoes next to them. pure love.

tretorn for acne. love them. why do i have a thing for mens shoes?

cute little nikki in her acne anorak that i absolutely love.

ps. i love u.

want to be my friend forever? hey seb, mimi and gabe, want to be my favorite sibling forever? seriously, i think i need a sugar daddy. for one item only. i crave the proenza schouler bag i blogged about two weeks ago. i need the ps1 large suede bag. when i say need. i am talking neeeeed. like the need for water in the desert? okay, maybe that is a little bit of a stretch, but seriously? if you (my sis slash brothers slash friends slash parents) want to buckle to the rules of this shaky economy, then go ahead and get me the medium sized. or even the pouchette. but seriously guys, my heart belongs to the large ps1 bag. in navy or sand. or black. whatever, ill settle for any color. even mustard. it's almost as if i could break out into song right now...mariah carey style..."allllll i want for christmas is....a ps1 bag!!!!" okay im sorry. now i am going to go join the peace corps and ship myself off to a third world country to make up for the amount of shallow-ness i just displayed. but maybe the bag will be waiting for me when i get back?

grey day.

on my way out the door in a little bit. 2nd day of the sample sale. no more boxes to unpack, no clothes to hang up. now it's all about the benjamins ($). went to equinox to work out at 6am this morning. what was wall street like? a frozen tundra. ok maybe not a tundra exactly, but it was frigid. it smelled like winter. im not kidding. that wonderful smell of cold air and grey days. well, it's supposed to snow today. i wouldnt be surprised if boston was hit with a snow storm before thanksgiving. typical new england weather. why does it have to be so moody? speaking of moody. my tshirt of choice today? my friend andrew's tee that he designed last spring. "i want to change the world but im so sleepy." thats how i feel today. working the sample sale till 3:30 then work 4-11 at sera. then my face will hit the pillow, i promise.

hanne gaby odiele.

supreme management loves blogging about hanne gaby odiele. for both 10 magazine and muse magazine. totally different looks but both edgy. one is dramatically romantic in the woods and the other a cityscape of drama.

for muse

for 10 magazine

come to the sample sale!

gap loves xmas.

happy to drown.

drowning is a big fear for most. sure, it's one of mine too. especially after seeing 'the perfect storm' when i was 14 yrs. old. however, drowning in sample sale clothes is pretty much my idea of heaven. that was my day today. piles of acne, filippa k, and nudie. i was pretty much on cloud nine when they unleashed us at 5pm to 'shop all we wanted.' to get the first pick of the clothes we had been slaving over all day was exactly what i needed. i had been freezing from my toes (which were squeezed into my fav converse sneaks) up to my ears all afternoon and had taken a liking to the cronic parka so it ended up in my pile of must haves. it is coming home with me. as are several other accessories. love love love. that is all i feel fluttering in my heart for the acne items at the sample sale.

come by wed + thurs at 33 w. 26th street 5th floor from 11-7pm. and shop till you drop. or drown in acne. i love it.

speaking of...

speaking of century 21. i snapped this picture earlier this evening while in a cab. new york is getting in the holiday spirit. and century 21 is all lit up in red lights. i am going to be a nerd and admit that i downloaded enya's new xmas cd yesterday. what more could i ask for? well, maybe some eggnog, pepparkakor and a jonathan adler home for the holidays candle (which smells like a giant xmas tree.)

penny pinching? i doubt it.

by far one of the funniest takes on the horrible economy at the moment. my favorite is the woman in the fur was asked if she would start shopping at century 21 now and she was answers "i dont know what century 21 is...what is century 21?" so great.im sure my mom and dad are watching this vid thinking...i wonder if antonia is being "a good person" (to quote the guy in the video) and cutting back. dont worry mom&pops i have always shopped the sale rack, and i never plan on purchasing a money clip from tiffany. im pretty damn happy with my chanel wallet from my 18th birthday. but keep worrying because i do have a sample sale to work all week with amazing clothes flooding the floors of the loft we are going to be using. temptation much? who can think of the economy when acne leather jackets come into the picture? come on now. be rational.

last night.

what a long sunday. it was a bunch of fun though with brunch at maracas, a stop at jonathan adler (where we saw jonathan and simon doonan), starstruck vintage, and a walk through blustery west village. we ended the night at gigino trattoria in tribeca, where i managed to get sick from wearing my glasses for the first time in a couple weeks. i felt so dizzy. i was totally bummed i had to skip our planned movie, but going home and laying in bed was exactly what i needed.

last night was a holey-tight night. with knee high boots and my other h&m aids charity shirt (this one designed by timbaland) and i was all set. more pics to come.

loeffler randall

structure can be extremely feminine and pretty. loeffler randall's fw collection is all about shape. think ruffles on queen elizabeth. pretty little coats with neutral colored jeans. i love it. now if only i could pull off that doll-like pale look. not really working for me.
