balmain...

sometimes i wish i could pull off bling. like beyonce rocks it even though im not the biggest fan. how the runway girls get to flaunt it. and how the editorial models gets to drown in it. well here is one example. who do you know that could pull off a balmain jacket on a normal day or even at the hippest event? uh no one. but we all wish it was possible. and that is fashion for you.

love in a handbag.

i want i want i want this love letter purse from boyy bag. i crave their designs. so different yet so chic. that is one thing that i always look for in a bag - something that other people will drool over but that no one will recognize from the pages of a magazine. like the miu miu braided bags - sure theyre pretty, but maybe i dont want to be like everybody else. and how great are these photos.

sneak love.

anyone who knows me, knows that i have a dangerous love for all trainers, sneaks, high tops, low tops, whatever you wanna call them. well for that reason i wish i had man sized feet so i could wear all the great shoes they design for guys. girls sneaks are always so cheesy in pink or purple with lame flowery details. honestly...do i want to look like a 2nd grader? awesome.

well here are some kickass new pumps from converses collaboration with lanvin and thom browne.
i know it may not be very lady like to have feet in a men's 10, but id do it for these sneaks.

swede.

im starting to sound like a broken record. i know i know. i shouldnt have promised that id be blogging a lot over xmas. well hello. im back. back in the states, and im feeling a little bit rotten that i didnt write at all over my holiday. the last couple of days i spent in stockholm were filled with inspiration just from walking through the street, shopping and people watching. i really enjoy the broad spectrum of sthlms style. there are those girlies from söder who all look the same with their skinny jeans, big tshirts and biker boots. then there are those östermalms girls with their fur hats, longchamp totes (or lv speedys) dark jeans and knee high flat boots. then there are those who break out of the stereotypes and try a little bit of both. i like the ones who mix the old style with the new and the edgy with the sweet.

what my wallet and credit score are happy for is that i did not rape the sale racks as i could have. the winter sales in stockholm are pure madness. and ridiculous. unlike in the us when you see one or two racks on sale, at swedish boutiques everything is 40-70% off. i am talking everything. those things that arent even that old. i caught myself asking several times "are you sure its on sale?" i was pretty much in shock. i am feeling like a part of my soul is stuck at the NK sale. i didnt come out of there with the wool tiger of sweden coat i wanted or the whyred anorak. i am crying on the inside.

okay i can quite being so shallow now. i mean i did just write a whole paragraph on sales. uh...i apologize. but the plane ticket to stockholm just for sales would be so worth it.

snart.

my sister dropped us off at the airport. as we were getting out the car, a huge gust of wind hit me. oh jesus christ it was cold. she laughed and said "it's cold...but dont worry soon you'll be in... the same weather! you might as well not leave. look there's sthlm (pointing at boston in the distance"...she's jabbing at the fact that she will be on a beach in indonesia in a couple of days, and i will be bundled up in sweden. go ahead mimi, poke fun. dont worry i have my acne jacket.

snart flyger vi. soon my friends soon. going to board soon and then we're off to the land of ice. eh okay more like the land of recession. aka iceland. ill blog when i get to sweden.

almost...

almost on my way. i am all packed. ready to go. so excited. wish i could snap my fingers and be there, but hopefully it will be an easy across the pond. my new ipod is loaded with sex&the city episodes, wallis and gromit, and a couple of movies. but what am i most excited about? starting (finally-and i mean finally) the third stieg larsson book. do you have any idea how long i have been trying to start it? months. and today is the day. so i may be wearing my fav transformers tee right now, but ill be flying in rugby by ralph lauren dress and some bally winter boots. im all blinged up with my favo bracelets. there is just one issue. i have to remove them all before i go through the metal detector. the people behind me always sigh or grunt in frustration. sorry peeps but it's what i do for fashion. or actually, it's what i do for me.

off to iceland we go! then stockholm.

nu kör vi.

okej okay. nu kör vi. ive been a liiiiitle busy the past wk, and my blogging appetite has been at an all time low. but now i am starting to rev my engines again, and i promise to get my act back together. i have a prof photographer on my hands (my dear mother), who has a great new camera, and i have a lot of adventures ahead.
so photos. stories. entries. the whole shabang i promise.

as for boston? the weather is pure hell. there is about a foot of snow on the ground. not the fluffy, sweet kind. the wet, heavy, icy snow. my poor little sister is stuck in dallas after her flight got cancelled. hopefully she will fly tmrw. even tho we are expecting another 4 to 6 inches. as long as our plane takes off on monday night, i am fine with the winter weather. but if i miss xmas because of a lame storm, i may throw a fit.

goodnight.

old school.

growing up in new england, almost every child is a poster child for llbean. we had llbean backpacks, canvas totes, snow suits and duffel bags. well i want to bring the poster child prep look back. next smart purchase? a pair of these.  sure i own a pair of lame uggs (that are warm but heinous), and a heavy duty pair of sorrel winter boots, but i need something light to wear to work in the nasty slush of nyc weather. will i look like a prep school soccer mom? perhaps. but ill love the look.

feber.

soooo one of my favorite swedish websites feber.se just got a whole lot snazzier. their layout is now extremely high tech. it's going to take some getting used to. especially to find my fav pages, but hopefully this only means that the content will get better and better.

prada revealed.

if you were drooling over prada's angelic creations during milan's fashion wk then youre in luck because their campaign was just leaked. love the french twists. and the light box underneath the models really helps bring out the texture of all of the pieces. magical. wearable? not exactly.

homebound.

good morning. it's 8:45 which means i have 15 minutes to get my butt, one suit case and two huge weekender bags out of my apartment, down the stairs of the 2/3 subway and onto a train to madison square garden. from there ill be bussing it up to beantown. why do these 15 minutes seem so torturous? perhaps because i went to bed at 2. yes 2. thank you holiday party season. well i guess it was also my own fault. i got home at 12, only to then start organizing myself. also, thought i plugged in my blackberry last night. but did it charge? no. because the actual charger was not plugged in. awesome. well thank goodness for bolt bus. plugs, internet, sleepy night night time? my cup of tea. speaking of which, i need to drink mine before it gets cold.

tmrw.

it's 2am. you may ask what i am still doing up. that - i do not have the answer to. i went to an xmas party tonight and then hung out with my friends. gotta throw in some love for my pals before i leave for the home country. cannoooot wait. leaving for boston at 10am. then sweden on monday.
