last week, i was in the bed, bath and beyond in tribeca picking up some necessities (salad tongs, tea lights, 7th generation dish soap and hanging hooks), when i stumbled upon the candle aisle. i knew we needed some candles for the apt, so i ventured slowly into the aisle, thinking... maybeeee i could learn to love yankee candle factory like most americans. i walked up to a banana bread candle, thinking "banana bread is one of my favorite things on this planet...". oh boy was i mistaken. every candle i sniffed made me gag. how can people buy those awful things? i mean frosted pumpkin? seriously?
okay moral of the story is: antonia cannot handle scented yankee candles. however, i am head over heels in love with (malin + goetz) candles. both the cannabis and dark rum are heavenly. deep, dark and just perfect for me. i bought the soap version of the dark rum this wknd at earnest sewn in meatpacking, and i have been lathering my body in the scent every night. is that weird? yes. do i care what you think about my obsession? no.
also, the other night when i was at aerospace (for aeroboxing), i used malin + goetz products in their shower. they are just wonderful for face, hair and body. check out the store here:
