yigal azrouël.

one of my favorite doors in ny city is the glass door at yigal azrouël in the meatpacking district with the huge wooden door handle. that has nothing to do with this post, but i figured id throw it out there.
well, while i was calling ny magazine editors and freelancers yesterday, the brilliance of yigal azrouël was being displayed on the runway. i love how he describes himself as a perfectionist at making his clothes far from perfect. “I want them to look like they have experience. Like [they] got kind of damaged. I think it makes [them] look cooler.” ((wwd.com)) the rough edges, subtle colors and mix of fabrics gives the spring 2009 collection that nonchalant glamorous feeling of "oh this old thing?". well it works. and itll make the trend hunter/brand whore's head spin when they cant figure out who made it.
